Winter Hiking Devil's Tower with Kids

Passing through or live in the area? Devil's Tower National Monument is open year round. With some warm clothes and snow boots hiking on Devil's Tower trails is a great way to get the kids outside. We took this trip hiking in January on a partly cloudy, 35 degree Fahrenheit day.

We dressed the kids in snow boots and snow pants with many under layers. We choose the Tower Trail a 1.3 mile loop around the tower.
The sun felt great and it was almost warm. The trail was a little icy in some places and snowy in others, Many footprints made it easy to follow.
The hike lasted for about 1.5 hours with many stops to investigate animal tracks, rocks and have snacks.
